Architecture & Strategy

v1.0 — August 2026 · Confidential · Built on QiD × Cameo × BentPixels

The first platform where every fan has a face, every demographic is a fact, and every data share is a choice.

Marquee is a three-portal platform that turns the creator–fan–brand relationship from a guessing game into a verified marketplace. Creators credentialize their audiences — transforming unverified follower counts into liveness-proven, government-ID-verified fan communities with deterministic demographics. Fans receive a portable identity credential they use once and carry everywhere. Brands access the only audience targeting in the industry where every reached human is confirmed real, the demographics are government-derived, and every data access is consent-gated with cryptographic receipts.

Macro shift
The death of mainstream media, the rise of independent creators

Three tectonic forces are creating the market Marquee serves.

Trust in mainstream media has collapsed

Only 28% of Americans trust newspapers, television, and radio to report news accurately — a record low and a 42-point drop from the 1970s when Gallup first measured trust at 70%. The decline is steepest among younger adults: no age group under 65 exceeds 28% trust. The audience isn't disappearing — it's migrating to independent creators they trust more than institutions.

The creator economy is replacing mainstream media

The global creator economy reached $250–310 billion in 2026 and is projected to exceed $1 trillion by 2034. More than 200 million people worldwide identify as content creators. Goldman Sachs projects 107 million creators by 2030. YouTube alone paid creators, artists, and media companies more than $100 billion over four years. Independent creators are not a niche — they are the new media.

But the creator-brand infrastructure is broken

Influencer marketing hit $32.55 billion in 2025, yet 37.2% of followers are fake and $4.8 billion is wasted annually on fraud. Brand deals are negotiated on estimated reach — estimated demographics that are wrong 37% of the time. Creator-brand deal-making is ad hoc, manual, and built on data nobody trusts. 81% of marketers encountered influencer fraud in the past year with median waste of $128,000 per campaign.

The three markets
What each group needs — and doesn't have

Creators

"I have 2M fans but I can't prove a single one is real. Brands discount me."

  • Follower counts are polluted by bots and dormant accounts
  • Brand deals priced on estimated reach, not verified demographics
  • No protection against LLM persona replication
  • Revenue depends on algorithms they don't control

Fans

"I want to be seen by the creator I love — and I want one credential that works everywhere."

  • Invisible in a sea of millions of followers
  • Re-verify identity at every new app, bank, and service
  • No control over who has their data or how it's used
  • Vulnerable to data breaches and platform leaks

Brands

"I need to know the audience is real before I spend $50K on a campaign."

  • 37.2% of influencer followers are fake
  • Demographics are estimated, not verified
  • $128K median waste per campaign from fraud
  • Privacy regulation is eroding tracking-based targeting
The opportunity
Verified audiences are worth 5× more

ID.me proved that verified community users deliver 43% higher average order value with 5.4× ROI in a single quarter. Their 157 million verified users generate $150M+ in annual revenue. Applying this verification model to the $310 billion creator economy — where 37% of the audience is fake — represents a massive value creation opportunity for creators, fans, and brands alike.

Unfair advantage
Three assets that solve the cold start problem

Any startup attempting this from scratch faces a three-sided cold start — creators, fans, and brands — with no distribution, no data, and no identity infrastructure. We start with all three.

Cameo

50K+ creators · 1M+ fulfilled requests · TikTok integration live

Existing creator-fan transaction relationships. Every Cameo request is a fan who paid to interact with a creator — the highest-signal relationship in the creator economy. These transaction pairs are the seed for verified fan communities.

"We don't need to acquire creators. We already have them."

BentPixels

10K+ YouTube partners · Creator intelligence layer · Brand relationships

Creator intelligence data — authenticity scores, brand safety assessments, audience demographics, engagement metrics — across thousands of YouTube creators. Plus existing brand deal relationships that shorten the sales cycle from months to weeks.

"We don't need to build creator intelligence. We already have it."

QiD

751-component React library · Chelsea FC as customer · Passkey-first

Privacy-preserving identity infrastructure, biometric verification, Passkey for user LOVE, Graduated Identity framework, 751-component React library, Chelsea FC as customer, government-grade credential issuance.

"We don't need to build identity infrastructure. We already have it."
Cold start strategy
The creator cluster — scored 9/10 on every axis

The optimal launch unit is a cluster of 5 YouTube creators with overlapping fan bases — identified by BentPixels data, launched together. Portability proven on day one: a fan who verifies for Creator A taps into Creator B's fan club instantly. Replicable monthly. One cluster per month = 60 creators in Year 1.

Graduated identity
One star system · Three tiers · Every context

The star is the universal signal. What it unlocks depends on where you present it. A ⭐⭐ at a fan club opens the VIP section. The same ⭐⭐ at a bank opens a full account. The credential doesn't change — the context determines what it's worth.

This is the data that no other platform in the world can show. Facebook Ads gives probabilistic audience estimates from tracking signals. Marquee gives deterministic verified demographics from government IDs.

Creator value stack
What creators get — ranked by impact
1
Your verified audience is worth more than your follower count
2-3× premium on brand deals when backed by government-verified demographics
2
Protect your name, image, and likeness — with legal teeth
UCC Article 12 enforceable identity record, defense against LLM persona replication
3
Own your audience — stop renting from algorithms
Direct communication channel, portable fan data, no algorithm dependency
4
Brand deal marketplace — deals come to you, backed by data
Brands search by verified audience demographics, submit briefs directly
5
Community maturation — your audience gets more valuable over time
Compounding asset: verification deepens, credentials stay fresh, engagement sustains
Fan value stack
What fans get — ranked by emotional pull
1
The inner circle — content and access only real fans get
Behind-the-scenes, early releases, AMAs, the stuff your creator doesn't put anywhere else
2
The credential you'll use for the rest of your life
Verify once, use everywhere — fan clubs, banks, apps. Never fill out another form.
3
The Map — see everything, control everything
Every org that has your data, visible and revocable with a single tap
4
Your creator knows you're real — and you can prove it
Verified badge, fan leaderboard, visible to the creator by name
5
Skip the line — presale, priority, first access to everything
Concert tickets, merch drops, limited editions — verified fans get there first
Brand value stack
What brands get — ranked by ROI impact
1
You're paying for real humans — proof, not promises
4.3× better CPA. Every fan passed a government ID check and a liveness verification.
2
Demographics you can bet your budget on
From government-issued documents, not behavioral inference or tracking pixels
3
The fraud tax is zero
Not "low." Not "detected." Zero. Structurally impossible. Bots can't produce government IDs.
4
Consent-first targeting — privacy as competitive advantage
Every data access comes with explicit, per-instance, revocable consent and cryptographic receipts
5
Community maturation — audiences that improve over time
The only targeting signal that gets stronger. Facebook/Google signals are degrading.
Product backlog
90 user stories across 3 portals

15 personas and 90 user stories — 30 per class — all tagged with tier, priority, and QiD dependency. 31 stories are P0 (must ship for MVP). Full backlog available in companion document.

Primary strategy
The creator cluster

Five overlapping YouTube creators, identified by BentPixels data, launched together. A fan who verifies for Creator A taps into Creator B's fan club instantly — portability proven on day one. One cluster per month. Scale by replication, not by individual onboarding.

Cluster selection criteria

5 creators who collaborate · 30%+ mutual audience overlap between at least 3 pairs · Combined unique audience of 1M+ · Authenticity scores above 85% · Brand-safe content · At least one 500K+ anchor creator

The first 90 days
From zero to first brand deal
Week 1–2

Identify and recruit Cluster #1

BentPixels identifies 5 creators with overlapping audiences. Account manager makes personal outreach. Founding terms: 0% platform fee for 12 months.

Week 3–4

White-glove onboarding

All 5 creators verify (⭐⭐). Each gates 5-10 pieces of exclusive content. BentPixels provides content strategy support.

Week 5–6

Coordinated launch

All 5 announce simultaneously. Cross-promotion is natural — they're friends. Total addressable: 1M-3M fans.

Week 7–8

Verification wave

Target: 10K-20K verified fans across the cluster. Fans who verify for one creator discover instant access to the other four.

Portability demonstrated within the first session
Week 9–12

First brand deals

BentPixels brand team pitches verified audience data. Target: 2-3 deals. Campaign results become the case study for Cluster #2.

Revenue within 90 days
Parallel tracks
Three tracks running simultaneously

Track 2: Chelsea beachhead

QiD verification embedded in Chelsea's mobile app. Verified fan ticketing for at least one match. First sponsor campaign against verified audience data. Case study for every sports entity. Timeline: 6-9 months.

Track 3: Credential acceptance network

Sign organizations adjacent to each creator base: UK financial services for Chelsea fans, US digital services for creator cluster fans. Each new partner expands the portability value. The "holy shit" moment isn't Chelsea ↔ Cameo — it's Chelsea ↔ Barclays and Cameo ↔ Cash App.

Track 4: Opportunistic acquisition

Continuous due diligence on failed creator platforms. Active creator base + clean contracts at distressed price ≤ $5M. When the right target appears, move fast.

Revenue model
Who pays what

Brand campaign fee

12% of campaign value. A $50K campaign → Platform keeps $6,000 → Creator receives $44,000. Positioned at the top of Patreon's range (5-12%) but justified by verified audience data + brand deal marketplace that Patreon doesn't offer.

Audience access subscription

$500-$10K/month for brands to search verified audience demographics and community maturation data across all creators.

Additional streams

Verification sponsorship ($1-5/fan verified) · Open Call posting ($500-2K) · API access for agencies ($2K-10K/month) · Optional fan subscriptions (creator-set price, 5% platform fee) · Superfan segment premium (3-5× base CPM)

Competitive positioning
The empty quadrant

Every competitor is either consumer-facing but walled (your identity only works within their network) or infrastructure-only (invisible to end users). Marquee is the only platform that's both consumer-facing AND portable.

This architecture is built on assumptions

The team must review each assumption below and certify through their own judgment and experience that the plan is achievable in reality — not delusional or built on false premises. Where an assumption is wrong, the dependent sections of this document must be revised.

Customer assumptions

  • Creators will put genuinely premium content behind the Verified gate — not repurposed public content
  • Fans will scan their government ID for a fan club if the exclusive content is compelling enough
  • The portable credential value ("verify once, use everywhere") is motivating enough to justify the friction
  • Brands will pay 2-3× premium CPM for verified audience targeting
  • The 43% AOV uplift and 5.4× ROI demonstrated by ID.me will transfer to the creator economy context
  • Mid-tier creators (100K-1M followers) are the highest-leverage persona for initial adoption

Product assumptions

  • Government ID verification can be completed in under 3 minutes with >80% success rate on mobile
  • Jake's 751-component library is production-ready enough to build the MVP without a full rebuild
  • Supabase can handle real-time maturation calculations at 100K+ verified fans
  • The 3-tier Graduated Identity system is the right simplification for consumer use
  • Fans will accept that the same credential used for a fan club also works at a bank

Go-to-market assumptions

  • BentPixels can identify creator clusters with 30%+ mutual audience overlap using existing data
  • 5 overlapping creators can be onboarded simultaneously in 2 weeks
  • Coordinated launch will generate 10K-20K fan verifications in 30 days
  • BentPixels' existing brand relationships will produce 2-3 brand deals within 90 days
  • The Creator Cluster model is replicable — Cluster #2 works as well as Cluster #1
  • Chelsea FC integration can proceed in parallel without blocking the creator cluster launch

Financial assumptions

  • 12% platform take rate is acceptable to creators (vs. Patreon's 5-12%)
  • Brands will pay $500-$10K/month for audience access subscriptions
  • Revenue per verified fan of $2-$5/year is achievable (1.5-2× ID.me's $1.88)
  • Year 1 revenue of $1M-$3.5M is achievable with 25 creators and 100K verified fans

Competitive assumptions

  • Clerk will not add verified credentials to their component library within 12 months
  • ID.me will not pivot to creator-mediated communities within 12 months
  • Patreon will not add government ID verification within 12 months
  • The 37.2% fake follower rate and $4.8B fraud waste will persist or worsen

Structural assumptions

  • QiD governance structure is sufficient for initial launch — no additional governance needed in Phase 1
  • UCC Article 12 legal enforceability for NIL protection is valid in relevant jurisdictions
  • Privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA) do not prohibit the consent-gated, receipted data sharing model
  • The portable credential will be accepted by at least one financial institution within 12 months
